PESHAWAR: Provincial Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, Arshad Ayub Khan chaired a ministerial committee meeting regarding the regularization of ad hoc teachers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Thursday.
During the meeting, the committee agreed in principle to regularize approximately 14,000 ad hoc teachers across the province. Formal approval for this decision will be sought from the provincial cabinet.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Law Aftab Alam, Finance Advisor Muzammil Aslam, Secretary Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Khalid, Additional Secretary Fauzia, Director Elementary and Secondary Education Laghmana Sardar, along with other relevant officials.
The meeting approved the regularization on a permanent basis of teachers recruited in 2022 who had previously been left out of the regularization process.
On this occasion, the Advisor on Finance directed the teachers to immediately open their CP Fund accounts after receiving their regularization notifications so that they could benefit from the government’s 12% contribution.
The ministerial committee was informed that the regularization process had been delayed due to various reasons.
However, Education Minister Arshad Ayub Khan congratulated the teachers on their regularization and stated that the present government had taken this positive step for the welfare of these teachers, as it was their rightful entitlement.
He further stated that final approval for the teachers’ regularization would be obtained from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial cabinet. It is noteworthy that approximately 14,000 male and female teachers from different districts of the province will benefit from this approval.
