PESHAWAR: The annual intermediate examinations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have officially started today, in which a total of 581,389 students are participating.

According to the details released by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, 283,338 candidates of class 11 and 298,051 candidates of class 12 are participating in the examinations.

A total of 1,984 examination centres have been established across the province for the transparent conduct of the examinations, for which 19,163 officials have been deployed to supervise them.

According to the data of the education boards, 131,898 candidates are appearing for the examination under the Peshawar Board, while 95,927 students are participating in the Mardan Board and 64,019 students are participating in the Swat Board.

The Education Department has clarified that all necessary steps have been completed to prevent cheating and maintain discipline.
