South Waziristan: A mortar shell fired from Afghanistan struck civilian homes in the border region adjacent to Angoor Adda, South Waziristan, injuring five family members, including three children. The shell hit the home of Karim Khan and Rahmatullah, causing significant damage and leaving the family in shock.
Medical Officer Dr. Ashfaq confirmed that five individuals, including three children, were brought to the local hospital with blast injuries. “The children were immediately admitted for treatment, and we began providing the necessary medical care,” Dr. Ashfaq said. One of the injured sustained a fractured elbow, which was stabilized, while the condition of the children is being closely monitored.
Noor Ali, one of the injured recalled the terrifying moment when the shell struck their home. “The blast was so loud and everything went into chaos,” he said. Another victim described the force of the explosion: “The entire house shook, and there was no time to react or understand what was happening.”
Local residents have expressed their deep concerns over the recurrent nature of these attacks, particularly the impact on civilians. “Children are the most vulnerable, and they are frequently caught in these cross-border assaults,” said one community member. “There is constant fear among us, and we don’t know when this will end.”
This attack marks another in a series of cross-border shelling incidents from Afghanistan into the region, which has seen civilians caught in the crossfire. The ongoing situation has left the local population living in uncertainty, as residents demand stronger security measures and action to prevent future attacks.

Moreover, the Deputy Commissioner’s Office of South Waziristan Lower has issued a press release confirming that several incidents of unprovoked firing and shelling by Afghan forces occurred in the border region of Angoor Adda on April 26 and April 29, 2026. These attacks resulted in significant casualties and damage to property.
According to the press release, multiple residential homes were damaged during the shelling, and eight individuals, including women and children, were critically injured. The injured were immediately provided with first aid and later transferred to hospitals in Dera Ismail Khan and Peshawar for further treatment.
The injured individuals include:

Zubaira Bibi, 20 years old, female (severely injured)
Bibi Hawa, 28 years old, female (severely injured)
Muslima Bibi, 13 years old, female (severely injured)
Sanab, 3 years old, male (severely injured)
Spinabi Bibi, 8 years old, female (severely injured)
Irshad, 10 years old, male (severely injured)
Rubia Bibi, 32 years old, female (severely injured)
The press release further stated that these individuals come from various localities, with some identified as residents of the villages of Musa Neka and Zalu Khail.
The district administration has expressed deep concern over these incidents, condemning the unprovoked aggression by Afghan forces and calling for immediate cessation of such actions. The local population and tribal elders have also voiced their distress and demanded urgent action to prevent further attacks.
“The district administration is closely monitoring the situation, and efforts are ongoing to provide medical and financial support to the affected families,” the press release noted. It also expressed heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families.
