PESHAAWAR: All tourist guides and tour operators are hereby informed that anyone who will visit the tourist destinations of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa must be registered under Section 2, Clause (af), Schedule (b)-I of the Tourism Act 2019 and Clause 60 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Hospitality and Tourism Sector Regulations 2021.
According Shah Nawaz Naveed Controller Tourist Services Wing it is mandatory for all tour guides and tour operators involved in tourism activities in the tourist destinations and areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to obtain a license from the Tourist Services Wing of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority before planning a tour and must carry the license with them during their tour.
From today onwards, the inspection teams of the Tourist Services Wing of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority will not only check these tour operators but also impose heavy fines on the spot on unregistered tour guides and tour operators and their groups will also be sent back from the tourist spots. If the relevant documents are not available during the tour, a show cause notice and a fine (up to Rs. 40,000) will be issued.
All tourists are also informed that before planning their tour, they must get information about the licenses of the relevant tour guides and tour operators so that they do not face any inconvenience during the trip and prove that they are a responsible tourist.
