CDA, Islamabad administration, and police have jointly recovered government land worth billions of rupees in Noorpur Shahan, ending decades of illegal occupation and commercial exploitation.
Out of the 600-acre occupied belt, 300 acres of land have been successfully acquired, while more than 3,500 illegal structures have been identified, and legal action has been initiated against them.
This land was legally acquired between 1961 and 1964 by paying full compensation in the form of cash and alternative land, and as per the Supreme Court’s 2011 Suo motu notice, this land is the sole property of the state, and no concession can be made on it. All legal requirements were fulfilled during this operation, including the hearing of claims and the speaking order issued on January 19, 2026, against which no appeal was filed.
Keeping in mind the humanitarian sentiments, prior notices were given to the residents so that they could remove their belongings and construction materials themselves before the arrival of the machinery.
It is to be noted that this operation was limited to illegal encroachments outside the notified limits, and the 1985 model village was not touched at all. FIRs have been registered against those involved in illegal buying, selling, and trading activities, which is a clear message that land grabbing and parallel property market will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
