ISLAMABAD: Recent claims by Al Jazeera regarding the inability of vessels to navigate the region have been countered by the successful passage of two ships, the Khairpur and the Shalamar, through the Strait of Hormuz. Both vessels have reportedly crossed the strategic waterway and are now positioned in the Persian Gulf.

According to Marin traffic, the ships are currently on course and are expected to reach their final destination in Kuwait early tomorrow morning. This movement comes amid allegations that previous reporting on the status of the waterway was inaccurate, specifically challenging claims that the strait was impassable for commercial traffic.

While reports of maritime risks and the presence of mines in the area have caused significant international concern, the transit of the Khairpur and Shalamar suggests that movement through the Gulf remains possible. The arrival of both vessels in Kuwait tomorrow will serve as a key marker for the current operational status of the shipping route.
