QUETTA: The Quetta-Peshawar Jaffar Express has been resumed after five days of suspension, railway officials confirmed on Sunday.

Earlier on September 23, the Jaffar Express, travelling from Peshawar to Quetta, derailed near the Dasht track in Balochistan due to a technical fault.

According to railway officials, three bogies of the train derailed; one bogie overturned, while the other two derailed without overturning.

Immediately after the accident, rescue teams were dispatched to the scene, and the injured were transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance. Railway officials reported that all passengers of the Jaffar Express have safely evacuated the accident site, and the train has now been fully cleared.

Media reported a blast that is contrary to the fact.

The Bolan Mail has also started running again and left on time.

Official said the repair process of the affected railway line and bridge was finished last night, enabling train services to start running again.
