WASHINGTON: First Lady Melania Trump has denied rumours of relations with convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, saying the rumours are “propaganda” fuelled by doctored social media photos.
Addressing allegations against her name in an official statement, Melania Trump dismissed such assertions as baseless. In her statement, the First Lady said the photos posted on social media about her alleged connection to Jeffrey Epstein are doctored and not true.
“These are completely doctored images meant to deceive people. I strongly deny having anything to do with him,” said Melania Trump.
Melania further used the opportunity to call for a Congressional hearing as a venue where victims of the crimes committed by Jeffrey Epstein can testify. She called on every one of his victims to make use of this opportunity.
“We need to give all the victims of his crime the chance to testify before Congress,” Melania Trump said. “Their testimony needs to be included in the record of Congress.”
These statements from the First Lady come after a series of discussions regarding the Epstein case with the victims of the financier’s sexual abuse. While the controversy around the case of Jeffrey Epstein is vast and involves many well-known personalities, Melania Trump is categorical about having nothing to do with it.
While there have not been any pieces of evidence that could prove the involvement of Melania Trump in Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes, the circulation of false photos of the couple has not stopped. The statements released by Trump today can be considered an official denial of the allegations.
In light of these events, Melania Trump’s call to give testimonies to the victims should be noted.
