The narrative of “Pakistan betrayed Iran” was not based on any authentic news or real event but was part of a well-thought-out, organized and coordinated disinformation campaign, which has been exposed by Pakistani media.

The document under review highlights the fact that this campaign was run by a joint and coordinated network of operators linked to India and Afghanistan, where the narrative against Pakistan was created and spread using fake Iranian identities.

The campaign began with accounts that pretended to be Iranian, such as INN Iran National News (@INNewx) and Iran TV (@Irania_TV). The same pattern emerges in the document as “initiator” accounts, where initial content is produced under the guise of an Iranian identity to make the narrative appear authentic and local, even though it is controlled by an external network.

These platforms claimed, without any verifiable evidence, that Pakistan was facilitating oil shipments to the US, thereby creating an artificial Iranian response. According to the document, these accounts were actually part of a network that fabricated the narrative by hiding their true identity and geographical affiliation.

Later, Afghan-based accounts were used as proliferators and amplifiers to amplify this narrative. Accounts like W.A. Mubariz (115,000 followers) and Burhan Uddin (86,000 followers) further amplified the narrative and tried to inflame public sentiment by linking it to economic treachery and religious sensitivities.

This phase is consistent with the structure shown in the document where the Afghan network plays a key role in rapidly spreading the narrative.

Meanwhile, the Indian accounts emerge as the strategic controllers and narrative makers of the entire operation. Accounts like Ravikumar M (114k followers), JanNayak Raghu and Sumit Tomar have continuously pushed this narrative, portraying Pakistan as unreliable and part of a Western agenda.

The document also highlights the central role of Indian operators, who shape the narrative, direct it and amplify it through various accounts. The Times of Iran News (176k followers) is a key player in this shared network, which is clearly shown in the document as the “main amplifier”.

It has been identified as operating from India and the platform plays a central role in giving false claims the appearance of news and analysis, making them credible and spreading them globally.

Further evidence suggests that Indian and Afghan operators were operating accounts with Iranian identities in concert, where the same narrative was reinforced through continuous handle renaming, use of different names and coordinated postings.

All this evidence makes it clear that this was not a random social media activity but a complete, organized and strategic information warfare campaign based on India and Afghanistan, aimed at creating distrust in the region, inflaming religious sentiments, and isolating Pakistan diplomatically.
