KABUL: New intelligence reports from the ground in Kabul have challenged the official narrative provided by the Taliban regarding the recent airstrike, suggesting the site was a military housing facility rather than a medical centre.

The reports clarify that no drug rehabilitation centre existed at the targeted site, despite recent claims by the Taliban administration.

While the location was previously used as a temporary holding area to round up drug addicts following the Taliban takeover, sources indicate that these individuals were gradually sold off to various warlords and terrorist organisations, primarily to be utilised as suicide bombers.

Currently, the containerised structures being displayed by the Taliban regime were reportedly housing Taliban troops and members of affiliated terrorist outfits. While these individuals were active members of the regime’s military apparatus, intelligence sources suggest that a large number of them remained drug addicts.

The findings further point to a culture within these units where addiction and homosexuality are common, despite the regime’s public stance.

This intelligence suggests the strike targeted a functional military and terrorist housing hub, contradicting the “rehab centre” narrative currently being promoted internationally.
