ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued new instructions regarding changes or corrections to citizens’ dates of birth.

NADRA requires people to obtain court orders from Union Council, Cantonment Board, or Municipal Corporation before they can alter their birth certificate date of birth records.

The authority established requirements that applicants must fulfill to change their date of birth on National Identity Cards, NICOPs, Child Registration Certificates, or Juvenile Cards. Applicants must provide a verified computerized birth certificate together with the official court order to obtain approval.

NADRA stated that all cases which use computerized birth certificates from Punjab must follow this requirement which the provincial government has established as mandatory.

The authority provides citizens with legal process support which guarantees their applications will be processed according to established regulations.
