PESHAWAR: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, has criticized the PTI-led provincial government, accusing it of failing to serve the public and ignoring the suffering of people in Tirah Valley.
Speaking to the media at the Peshawar Press Club after congratulating the newly elected cabinet, Rubina Khalid said the PPP would not abandon the people of Tirah Valley and would ensure that assistance reaches them during this difficult time. She said those who allowed the operation have now “turned their backs on the people of Tirah.”
She described the Peshawar Press Club election process as a democratic system which should be used by politicians as their election model. “No allegations are made, and voters choose those who serve them,” she said, describing the process as commendable.
The PPP has responded to every disaster which occurred anywhere in Pakistan because its leaders have established a response system which provides immediate assistance to affected areas according to Rubina Khalid. The party designates work responsibilities to its legislators who serve in both the Senate and the National Assembly as well as the Provincial Assembly to guarantee citizens will receive necessary support.
She accused the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa PTI government of using military forces to conduct an operation which caused residents of Tirah Valley to flee their homes under dangerous conditions. She said that displaced families face extreme difficulties while traveling through snow-covered paths and that we have reports which show children dying because of the severe winter weather conditions.
