The Ministry of Finance said that the federal government has transferred a total of Rs 8.404 trillion to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government over the past 15 years.

According to official documents, KP received approximately Rs 8.4 trillion from the Centre between 2010 and November 2025. Of this amount, Rs 5.867 trillion was transferred under the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award.

On December 17 alone, the federal government released Rs 46.44 billion to the KP government under the NFC framework. Additionally, the documents revealed that since 2010, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been receiving an extra one percent share under the NFC Award to help offset the financial burden of terrorism. To date, the province has received Rs 705 billion under this arrangement.

Furthermore, the finance ministry reported that KP has received Rs 482.78 billion in direct transfers since 2010, which includes payments for royalty, gas development surcharge (GDS), and excise duty.

Since 2019, the federal government has also allocated Rs 704 billion from its own share for the development of merged districts within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
