ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has alleged that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Murad Saeed is in Afghanistan and was remotely controlling the affairs of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government from there.

Speaking about the province’s political situation, Rana Sanaullah said Murad Saeed had also played a key role in bringing Sohail Afridi to the position of chief minister. He further claimed that PTI founder Imran Khan himself did not know Afridi personally.

Rana Sanaullah Blames Sohail Afridi and Murad Saeed for Failed Negotiations

The prime minister’s adviser said the federal government had demonstrated complete sincerity during negotiations with the PTI and agreed to its demands.

However, he alleged that Sohail Afridi and Murad Saeed, whom he described as operating behind the scenes, played a central role in the failure of the political dialogue.

Rana Sanaullah further claimed that the group had no faith in democracy, political negotiations or efforts to resolve disputes through dialogue.

His remarks came amid heightened political tensions between the federal government and the PTI leadership over the political and security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Commenting on the provincial political setup, Rana Sanaullah said former chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur had been completely sidelined.

He alleged that the current administrative arrangement in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was operating under a carefully devised plan.

The remarks add to the ongoing political controversy surrounding the province’s leadership, the breakdown of negotiations and the relationship between the federal government and the PTI-led provincial administration.
