ABBOTTABAD: Shahrukh Ali Khan (PAS, BS-19) has formally assumed the charge as Commissioner Hazara Division and started performing his official duties.
After assuming the charge, he will play a key role in overseeing the administrative affairs and official matters of Hazara Division. As Commissioner Hazara Division, Shahrukh Ali Khan will be responsible for administrative affairs in different districts of the division, monitoring performance of government departments, resolving public issues, and ensuring implementation of government directives.
Hazara Division comprises Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Battagram, Torghar, Upper Kohistan and Lower Kohistan districts, where coordination with district administrations and supervision of administrative matters are part of the Commissioner’s responsibilities.
After Shahrukh Ali Khan assumes charge, the affairs of the divisional administration will be carried out under his supervision.
The post of Commissioner Hazara Division is one of the most important administrative positions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Hazara Division is geographically and strategically sensitive due to its status as a tourism hub.
It includes major tourist destinations like Nathiagali, Thandiani, Kaghan, Naran, Shogran, and Babusar Top. Millions of tourists visit every year, so law and order, traffic management, and facilities are a major challenge for the administration.
The China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) passes through Hazara Division via Hazara Motorway and Karakoram Highway (KKH). Security and development projects related to CPEC are directly supervised by the Commissioner.
The division consists of 8 districts – Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Battagram, Torghar, Upper Kohistan, Lower Kohistan and Kolai-Palas. Some districts, like Kohistan, are among the most backward areas with issues of infrastructure, education, and health. About Shahrukh Ali Khan.
