PESHAWAR: The verification of videos related to the May 9 incidents in Peshawar has been completed. The Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory prepared a report based on videos that confirmed the presence of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi in the 9 May incident.
According to the forensic report, during the incidents of May 9, CM KP, Kamran Bangash, Taimur Jhagra, and Irfan Saleem were involved. The analysis was conducted by the Peshawar Police, using videos that were stored on a USB drive sent to the Peshawar East Police Station. Following the directions of the Peshawar High Court, the Peshawar Police submitted the videos for forensic analysis.
The forensic team performed a frame-by-frame analysis of 16 videos from the USB provided by Peshawar Police. They found no evidence of editing in several of the videos. However, alterations such as the addition of logos and text were identified in some clips.
Notably, there was evidence of clips being joined in two videos featuring Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and Irfan Saleem.
The forensic experts compared the profile pictures of Sohail Afridi with the individual in the video, confirming they are the same. Additionally, the profile picture of Irfan Saleem was also verified to align with his presence in the videos. The same confirmation was made for Kamran Bangash and Taimur Jhagra, whose profile images matched those seen in the footage.
It is worth noting that all analysis was limited to visual content only. The report was completed between December 19 and December 23, 2025, upon request from an anti-terrorism court that sought information regarding the Radio Pakistan attack case. The police had sent the videos to the Punjab Forensic Laboratory for this analysis.
