The Gaza Peace Agreement between Israel and Hamas was signed by U.S. President Donald Trump, along with the leaders of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey, during the Gaza Peace Summit held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

At this event, President Trump declared it a historic day for the people of Gaza, emphasising Egypt’s crucial role in the agreement. He stated that the accord would bring peace and development to Gaza and expressed a desire for lasting peace and stability in the Middle East. Trump noted that the Gaza Peace Agreement was made possible through the cooperation of friendly countries and expressed his gratitude to all involved.

He remarked that everyone was delighted with this agreement, stating, “We have made big agreements before, but this matter has taken off like a rocket.” Trump also addressed previous predictions of a potential Third World War in the Middle East, insisting that those fears would not come to pass.

In his speech to world leaders following the signing ceremony, he acknowledged that people in the region and around the globe had been striving and praying for this day. He highlighted that the events of the past month had been unexpected, and affirmed that they had achieved what many thought was impossible—establishing peace in the Middle East.

According to Trump, the war in Gaza is now over, humanitarian aid is flowing in, and hundreds of trucks carrying food, medicine, and essential items are arriving. Hostages have been released, and civilians are returning to their homes. He expressed that a new and brighter day is beginning, and that the process of reconstruction is set to start. The President thanked the Arab and Muslim countries that contributed to this extraordinary progress.

During the summit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared it a historic day for the people of Gaza, celebrating the peace achieved through tireless efforts. He praised President Trump as a true champion of peace and reiterated Pakistan’s nomination of him for the Nobel Peace Prize, stating that he deserves this recognition for saving millions of lives in both South Asia and the Middle East.

During the speech, President Trump appreciated Field Marshal Asim Munir and termed him his favourite Field Marshal.

Before the summit, President Trump met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other heads of state in Egypt, warmly greeting Sharif. The main aims of the Gaza Peace Conference were to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip, reinforce commitments to peace and stability in the Middle East, and usher in a new era of regional security, all encapsulated in the Gaza Peace Agreement proposed by the U.S. President.
