The government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has arrested several individuals for spreading false information and glorifying Iranian attacks on the country. These arrests followed investigations that revealed the suspects were involved in disseminating misleading information on social media regarding recent incidents.

The Criminal Investigation Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police apprehended individuals of various nationalities who filmed locations during the ongoing incidents and published the footage online, alongside circulating inaccurate information.

Among those arrested are 17 Indian nationals, 2 Pakistanis, 2 Filipinas, 2 Nepalese, 1 Egyptian, and 1 Bangladeshi. Authorities have emphasized that spreading fake news and promoting harmful narratives poses a threat to national security and public order.

The UAE government has made it clear that anyone found guilty of disseminating false information or inciting violence will face strict legal consequences. This action is part of the UAE’s ongoing efforts to combat misinformation and maintain stability in the region.

Police warned that such posts could provoke public concern and spread rumors within the community. Authorities stressed that misusing social media to spread false information violates laws and regulations. They urged residents to obtain information only from official sources and to avoid photographing or sharing images of incident locations to protect operations and public safety.
