HARARE: The Australian U-19 cricket team qualified for the ICC Under-19 World Cup semifinals after defeating West Indies by 22 runs in the Super 6 match on Wednesday.

The West Indies team attempted to reach a target of 315 runs but were left with 292 in 50 overs, losing 9 players. The West Indies team lost the match despite Zachary Carter scoring 64 and Vishva Doran 62.

The West Indies team decided to bowl first after winning the toss of the match.

The Australian team’s first three batsmen performed exceptionally well by scoring 314 runs while losing 7 wickets in 50 overs. Oliver Peake from Australia performed the best in batting as he scored 109 runs. Nitish Samuel scored 56 runs for his team and Will Milazuck scored 48 runs.

Alex Leung scored 45 runs and Jaden Draper scored 29 runs. The win gives Australia a chance to enter the final match while their young players are determined to continue their excellent performance in the coming matches.

New Zealand beat India by 50 runs to rake 3-1 lead in fourth T20I

Earlier, India and New Zealand faced off in the fourth T20 International in Visakhapatnam, and New Zealand came out on top, winning by 50 runs.

New Zealand put up a strong total of 215 for 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Tim Seifert hammered 62 with some fearless batting, while Devon Conway chipped in 44. Daryl Mitchell made sure they finished well, staying unbeaten on 39.

On the Indian side, Arshdeep Singh and Kuldeep Yadav picked up two wickets each, but they just couldn’t keep a lid on the runs. When it was India’s turn to bat, things went downhill fast. Chasing 216, they kept losing wickets and never really settled in. Shivam Dube tried to turn things around with a blistering 65 off just 23 balls, and Rinku Singh added 39, but the rest of the batting lineup just didn’t show up.

Mitchell Santner led the charge for New Zealand’s bowlers, grabbing three wickets. Ish Sodhi and Jacob Duffy took two each. In the end, New Zealand bowled India out for 165 in 18.4 overs and sealed a convincing win.
