SWABI: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in collaboration with District Police Swabi conducted an intelligence-based operation and eliminated two terrorists who were involved in multiple terror attacks. Two police personnel were also martyred in the operation.
The CTD Mardan district and Swabi police were on an operation in the guidance of intelligence in the locality of Ajmer Shah along Shado Dhereh when four terrorists on two motorbikes reached the police party and started firing indiscriminately. The terrorists’ target was the special SWAT of the CTD. The SWAT did not waste time, and the gunfight that ensued lasted for about 35 minutes.
The fight was tiring; two of the terrorists were shot dead in place as the other two ran into the shadows. The police have already launched a search operation within the region to catch up with the escaping terrorists.
The aimed terrorists were members of the outlawed organization Fatanah Al-Khawarij and affiliated with the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) led by Tayyab Akbar. The two were on the list of most-wanted since they were involved in different criminal offenses among which was the killing of police officers.
The Profiles of Dead Terrorists
Nauman alias Mane, a son of Makkin Shah of Swabi, had an array of charges against him including murder of Constable Jamaluddin and Driver Constable Zahid, attempted murder, extortion, and terrorism.
Abdul Basit, a son of Talawat Shah of Swabi, was an accomplice to many acts of terrorism and was sought by CTD Mardan on multiple charges including murder and terrorism.

The authorities also took into custody one Kalashnikov rifle, one pistol, six magazines, 23 bullets of ammunition, two hand grenades, two mobile phones, and two membership cards of the banned TTP group from the martyred terrorists.
