WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has left to begin a critical tour of the Middle East and has vowed to take on the ongoing conflicts there and anywhere else he can, including the growing tensions developing between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Prior to getting onto Air Force One, President Trump spoke with the media and said “I hear there is now a war between Pakistan and Afghanistan. I will have to look at that when I come back. I will try again because that’s what I do best to resolve wars.”
He also took credit for preventing a war from breaking out between Pakistan and India when he stated, “I didn’t let the Pakistan-India war happen through tariffs.”
On the Middle East, Trump stated that the war has ended in Gaza and that a “Board of Peace” will be set up soon to take control of their problems.
He said, they hope to keep the ceasefire in Gaza and that the hostages may come home earlier than expected.
President Trump further said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be credited for the outcome and that Qatar should be credited for its role in diplomacy in the region.
