KOHAT: The Young Doctors Association has announced the closure of KDA Hospital in protest against the killing of Lady Dr Mehwish, who was shot dead by unknown armed men in Kohat.

According to reports, Dr Mehwish was attacked on Double Road while returning home from duty. She sustained critical injuries in the firing and later succumbed to her wounds. The incident has sparked outrage within the medical community.

Young Doctors President Dr Obaid stated that the protest and hospital closure will continue until the accused are arrested. He questioned the prevailing security situation, saying that if a female doctor is not safe, it raises serious concerns about law and order.

Following the announcement, patients at KDA Hospital faced severe hardships as medical services were suspended. Members of the doctors’ community staged a protest demonstration, demanding the immediate arrest of those involved in the killing.

Police have registered the case and launched an investigation. However, no arrests have been made so far, and the assailants remain unidentified.
