PESHAWAR: The police, Frontier Corps (FC), and other Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) carried out a joint operation based on intelligence in Lakki Marwat that successfully killed three wanted militants, the officials revealed.

The operation was conducted in the area of Purdal Begokhel and was conducted under the special orders of the Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as a part of the province’s intensified counter-terrorism measures.

Police reported that the militants had been behind the previous attacks on police and FC personnel and had also been involved in various target killings. It was believed that the suspects were plotting to carry out a dangerous operation in the Sarai Noorung area.

The police declared that the insurgents were responsible for the prior assaults on the police and FC personnel and were also in various target killings. The suspects were thought to be planning an aggressive operation in the Sarai Noorung region.

The CTD Bannu Special Weapons and Tactics unit and local police conducted a search-and-strike operation.d Muaz, and Afnan Khan who was also known as Afnani. The law enforcement agency located a Kalashnikov gun, two 9mm handguns, two cell phones, and the cards of a proscribed organization in their possession.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police and Additional IG CTD got highly impressed by the teams for their victorious operation and made a statement that the struggle against terrorism in the province would last until the complete annihilation of the militants. The officials mentioned that the further targeted operations would be stepped up to ensure the safety of the public and the law and order situations.
