PESHAWAR: The recent attack on the PTI’s senator Khuram Zeeshan’s house in Peshawar Hayatabad has exposed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police security lapses.
According to sources, the PTI senior leader and senator Khuram Zeeshan’s house was attacked by over 20 people in the Peshawar city’s posh area Hayatabad on Monday night, where his two employees were injured.
Sources said unknown assailants attacked the PTI leader’s house, damaging his residence gates, doors and windows and even rooms.
According to sources, the incident in the posh Hayatabad area of Peshawar has raised questions about the performance of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police. Despite the passage of 18 hours, the police have failed to arrest or identify the armed suspects.
Police said that the incident took place around 2:30 am when armed men in four to five vehicles tried to enter the residence of Khurram Zeeshan and opened fire during the incident.
According to the police, the window panes of the house were broken and damaged.
Senator Khurram Zeeshan was not at home at the time of the attack.
Peshawar Police Officer Farhan Khan said that it is not yet known who the attackers were, but a report has been registered in this regard, and investigations are underway.
Senator Khurram Zeeshan said that this is his father-in-law’s house, where he is staying with him. An FIR has been registered in this incident on the complaint of his cousin.
Giving details of the incident, he said that about 20 to 25 people had come in five vehicles, and due to their firing, one of his employees was shot in the back and sustained serious injuries.
