ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar stated that prohibiting meetings with PTI founder Imran Khan and the possible detention of his sisters cannot be dismissed.

Addressing TV networks, in the federal capital Tarar mentioned that individuals who meet Imran Khan beyond prison walls frequently try to propagate anti-state messages. He explained that the visits are intended for checking on health or addressing issues but any person arranging assemblies outside the jail will be dealt with according to the law.

He endorsed the remarks given by DG ISPR during a press briefing describing them as “entirely accurate.”

The minister additionally remarked on the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s visit to Adiala Jail stating that esteemed leaders would be denied entry if security measures necessitate it.

Concerning Imran Khan’s sisters Tarar mentioned that their detention cannot be excluded. He further stated that encounters, with Khan might be feasible if PTI softens its position and stops its -state discourse.

In response to another question, Tarar said that two PTI leaders attempted to travel abroad yesterday despite being on the no-fly list.

Earlier, the federal minister for information and broadcasting Ataullah Tarar said that Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaf (PTI) nexsus with anti-national elements is exposed.

In a press conference, federal minister Ata Tarar emphasized that the PTI party and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial government, had a collusion with anti-state elements.

Tarar stated that the PTI links with hostile forces have been exposed, and he criticized the KP government inability to take effective action against terrorism.

He said that while security forces in KP have been apprehending terrorists, the provincial government lacks the capacity to prosecute these cases.

Furthermore, he pointed out that non-customs paid vehicles are being openly used across the province, with the illegal activities surrounding them generating funds that allegedly reach terrorist groups.

The federal minister attributed the rise in cross-border infiltration to weaknesses in the Afghan government but emphasized that the KP government incompetence is making the situation worse.

He emphasized that while Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is working on national reforms, the KP government is offering protection to various mafias within the province.

Tarar also condemned the spread of rumors in the country, calling them part of a deliberate conspiracy aimed at weakening national institutions. He asserted that while the federal government is fulfilling its responsibilities, the KP government failures have aggravated the situation.

The Minister concluded by stressing that national security issues should not be politicized and urged all political parties to unite in the fight against terrorism.
