LAHORE: The government of Punjab has introduced a new initiative, the Climate Leadership Internship Program, for university students. This program provides a monthly stipend of 60,000 rupees to the interns. This initiative was inaugurated by Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab.

The program provides a practical internship and leadership opportunities to the interns to solve the problems of climate change and environmental issues. This internship provides practical experiences to the interns, enabling them to solve the environmental problems of Punjab, along with gaining practical knowledge to solve the problems of the climate and environment.

The interested students can apply for the internship program by visiting the website epd.punjab.gov.pk/climateinternship. The last date for the application of the internship program is March 29, 2026. Students can contact the helpline (1373) for assistance in the application process.

The program reflects the commitment of the government to empowering the youth and protecting the environment, said the Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz.

Deadline extended: Students given extra time to apply for Laptop scheme

Earlier, the Punjab Government has announced an extension for submitting applications under the Punjab Laptop Scheme Phase 2.

The official notification allows students to submit their applications through the online portal until March 20 2026. The extension aims to allow more students to benefit from this initiative. The scheme provides students with access to modern technology which enables them to access digital resources for their academic and research activities.

The program is part of the provincial government’s efforts to improve education. Public educational institution students and selected private university students in Punjab are eligible to apply for this program. The authorities have advised students to finish their application process before the deadline because it will help them better their educational prospects.
