ABBOTTABAD: A man assaulted his 95-year-old mother in a domestic incident which took place within the limit of Mangal Police Station in Abbottabad.
DPO Abbottabad Haroon Rasheed Khan issued an immediate order for police to apprehend the suspect.
According to police, Nisar son of Abdul Sattar stabbed his elderly mother during a family argument which began at 8:00 PM and resulted in critical injuries to her.
Mangal Police Station SHO, Shehzad Jadoon executed his duty by apprehending Nisar who had been identified as the main suspect. Nisar faces charges under Section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code while police conduct further investigations.
DPO Haroon Rasheed Khan condemned the incident because he believed everybody must show respect to their parents and he would not permit any leniency for people who commit severe offenses. He mentioned that authorities will utilize all available legal options to guarantee the suspect receives appropriate consequences for his actions according to legal standards.
The community reacted with shock to the incident which affected both the family and their neighbours but police quick response efforts restored public trust in their capacity to enforce the law.
Tragedy strikes Bajaur, four lives claimed
Earlier, armed men opened indiscriminate fire on a police Ababeel squad in the Nave Kali area of Khar tehsil in Bajaur, resulting in the martyrdom of four police personnel and injuring two others.
According to police sources, the Ababeel squad was on a routine patrol during Ramadan when they came under attack. The fallen officers have been identified as Yarzada, Dawood, Imran, and Siraj. The injured personnel were quickly transported to DHQ Hospital Khar for treatment.
Following the incident, a large contingent of police cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation to locate the assailants.
