Terrorists have targeted a police patrol vehicle in the Sub-Division Bettani area of ​​Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as a result of which six personnel including the SHO of Shadi Khel police station were martyred and another was injured.

According to security sources, the incident took place at around 11:50 am today Friday. SHO of Shadi Khel Bettani police station Saddar Azam along with his team was on a routine patrol in an official vehicle when a remote-controlled bomb (IED) planted on the roadside near Rasool Khel check post on the Shadi Khel-Mastikhel road exploded. The explosion was so intense that the police vehicle was completely destroyed and most of the personnel in it were martyred on the spot.

The names of the police personnel who were martyred in this tragic incident include Sadr Azam (SHO, Shadi Khel Police Station) – Martyred, Shah Bahram (Constable/Driver) – Martyred,Shah Khalid (Constable) – Martyred,Hajji Muhammad (Constable, ATS) – Martyred,Gulzada (Constable, ATS) – Martyred,Sakhizada (Constable, ATS) – Martyred,Constable Insafuddin has been seriously injured in the incident and has been shifted to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention.

As soon as the information about the explosion was received, a heavy contingent of police and rescue teams reached the spot. Security forces have cordoned off the entire area and started a search operation. Police officials say that all resources will be used to bring the terrorists involved to justice.

The attack comes at a time when the Pakistan Army has launched “Operation Ghazb-ul-Haq” against terrorism originating from across the border in Afghanistan. According to experts, this attack on the police is a cowardly act by the terrorists out of fear of their defeat to demoralize the security forces, but the resolve of the police and the public will not be diminished.
