PESHAWAR: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has announced a temporary suspension of gas supply to several densely populated areas of Peshawar due to the shifting and maintenance of a main gas pipeline.

According to a notification issued by SNGPL, the work will be carried out near the Zakhori Flyover and GT Road, affecting gas supply to various parts of the city.

The gas suspension will begin at 9pm on Tuesday, October 20, and continue until 5am on Wednesday, October 21, according to an SNGPL spokesperson.

The affected areas include Peshawar Cantonment, Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), Nothia, Gulberg, Charsadda Road and Pajagi Road, along with adjoining localities.

SNGPL has advised residents and institutions in the affected areas to make alternative arrangements in advance to avoid inconvenience during the suspension.

Consumers have also been directed to keep all gas appliances and stoves switched off throughout the shutdown period to prevent possible gas leakage or accidents when supply is restored in the morning.
