MIRPUR: The district president of the Shia community in Mirpur Division, along with organizational members, has appealed to the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) to postpone or call off its planned protest activities in view of the commencement of Muharram.
In a statement, the representatives noted that Muharram is a sacred month and that Section 144 has already been imposed, restricting public gatherings and related activities.
They urged the committee to take into account religious sensitivities and public sentiments during the holy month and to either defer or cancel all protest activities accordingly.
The community leaders emphasized the importance of respecting religious observances and maintaining peace and order during Muharram.
