Shahid Afridi Stadium in Bara: Will the current pace of work continue to ensure early completion?

KHYBER: Development work worth more than 50 crore rupees on the Shahid Afridi Sports Complex is not only continuing as usual, but transparency and quality are also being ensured under the new administrative setup.

After the imposition of Governor’s Rule, rumours were being spread on social media that all development work in the province would come to a standstill due to the emergency and the area would face further backwardness.

However, ground realities have completely rejected this propaganda. A visit to the Shahid Afridi Sports Complex revealed that construction work on this mega project, costing more than 50 crores, is in full swing.

In the past, during the tenure of the previous government, complaints about the use of substandard material and corruption and embezzlement of funds in such projects were common, due to which the public was severely disappointed. But now, under the federal decision and the new administrative setup, a strict checks-and-balances system has been enforced.

A clear example of this is the construction of a new, high-quality boundary wall at the Shahid Afridi Sports Complex and the start of high-standard work in other parts of the ground. Local citizens say that, far from stopping development work in Tehsil Bara and District Khyber, all avenues of corruption, nepotism, and substandard material are now being closed forever.

Under the supervision of the new setup, these transparent development activities are not only completely changing the outlook of District Khyber but also further strengthening public confidence in the state.
