NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Security Forces killed 22 more terrorists of Fitna-al-Khawarij in a major intelligence-based operation conducted in the Shewa area of North Waziristan, ISPR said on Tuesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in the operation that began on May 17, security forces have effectively targeted the hideouts of the Khawarij in the last 24 hours, resulting in the elimination of 22 members of the Indian-backed terrorist group after a fierce exchange of fire.
ISPR stated that a large quantity of arms and ammunition has also been recovered from the possession of the slain terrorists. These elements were involved in several serious acts of terrorism, including attacks on security forces and targeted killings of innocent civilians in the area.
The ISPR states that security forces have currently cordoned off the entire area, and a clearance operation is underway to find the hiding terrorists.
The statement further noted that evidence has also shown that the Khawarij continued to use the local population as human shields by force and threats to gain safe passage, which is a highly condemnable act.
The ISPR said that the operation to eliminate the Khawarij hiding in the area will continue while the counter-terrorism campaign under the ‘Determination of Stability’ is going on at full speed to eliminate Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country.
