KARACHI: Security forces on Sunday foiled a highly dangerous terrorist plot in Karachi’s Raees Goth, saving the city from a major disaster.

According to sources, during an intelligence-based operation, security agencies seized a mini truck parked in an empty plot, which contained tons of explosives, 60 plastic drums, 5 gas cylinders, and more than 40 kg of homemade explosives.
According to security sources, the terrorists were planning to target important public places with this truck.
Security forces cordoned off the area and took timely action, disabling the truck, averting a major tragedy in the city.
During the operation, security agencies monitored the area completely and safely seized the explosives.
Officials say that this operation is a major success in foiling the terrorist plots, and such operations will continue to ensure the safety of citizens.

Large cache of illegal weapons seized, suspect arrested in Kech

Security personnel have seized a large cache of illegal weapons and arrested a suspect during a major check-post operation in Tehsil Turbat, Kech district, on Sunday, Security sources said.

According to security sources, a suspected pickup vehicle bearing registration number LE-2996 was stopped for inspection at Sammi Naka on the M-8 Road in the general area of Sammi. During a thorough search of the vehicle, officials recovered a huge quantity of illegal weapons and ammunition.

The seized items included 400 pistols and 340 magazines, which were immediately confiscated. One individual travelling in the vehicle was taken into custody along with the pickup.

The arrested suspect was identified as Ihsanullah, son of Mir Baz Khan, a resident of Peshawar. Initial questioning is underway to determine the origin of the weapons and their intended destination.

Security officials said further investigation had been launched to ascertain whether the suspect was linked to any organised arms-smuggling network. The recovered weapons were shifted to a secure location, while legal proceedings against the suspect were being initiated.

Authorities said security checkpoints and snap checking on major routes in the district had been intensified to curb the smuggling of arms and ensure law and order in the area.
