WASHINGTON: US Senator Bernie Sanders has severely criticized US President Donald Trump, accusing him of plunging the world into crisis and acting as though he controls the nation’s laws. Sanders emphasized that America does not want a dictatorship, calling out Trump’s “abuse of power” and his handling of the Iran conflict.
Bernie Sanders, addressing the people at the “No More Kings” protest, where more than 7 million Americans are participating across America, said, “We have to bring an end to this war with Iran. Trump is putting the whole world into crisis. One person has taken the law into their own hands. We do not want a dictatorship in our country.”
The protests have been spreading across America, with people demonstrating against the ongoing war between America and Iran, which was strongly criticized by Bernie Sanders.
Bernie Sanders has criticized Trump for lying to the people of America about the Iraq war and is doing the same with Iran.
“The war with Iran was initiated by Israel’s Prime Minister. It is an unjust war against a sovereign nation, violating international law,” Sanders said. “The President of the United States, Trump, has lied to the American people about the war in Iraq, and he is lying again about the war with Iran.”
He also talked about the effects of the war and said that thousands of people have been killed in Gaza and Iran. “Over 2,000 Iranian citizens have already lost their lives. The weapons being used are funded by American taxpayers, and it’s time for that to stop,” Sanders said.
Sanders also talked about the reallocation of taxpayer dollars and said that the money should not be spent on funding the war. “Trump is wasting American taxpayers’ money on this war with Iran. That money should be spent on education, healthcare, and affordable housing, not on war,” he said while making a call for the reallocation of taxpayer dollars and urging the administration to immediately stop the war.
Sanders also said that the situation is at one of the most dangerous moments in US history and added that “The future of America and the entire world is at stake. We reject Trump’s authoritarianism and the power of the billionaire class that supports him.”
The demonstrations are expected to continue as 3,200 demonstrations have been planned in all 50 states in the US on Sunday. The statement of Sanders and the outcry over the war indicate the dissatisfaction of people with the current administration.
The outcome of the demonstrations is also of great importance as it is expected to affect the political situation in the US, and people want a change in the foreign policy of their country.
