PESHAWAR: The wait is almost over as prize bond holders get their next chance to win big on Monday, August 17, when the draw for the Rs100 prize bond to takes place at the National Savings Centre in Multan.
The National Savings Centre will hold the draw No. 55 for the Rs100 prize bond, giving bondholders another chance to win cash prizes as the top prize is Rs700,000, which will go to one lucky winner.
Three winners will receive the second prize of Rs200,000 each, while a number of bondholders will also win the third prize of Rs1,000 each. With the draw date approaching, prize bond holders across the country are waiting to check whether their bond numbers appear among the winners.
The complete list of winning numbers will be released after the draw is announced by the National Savings Centre. Prize bonds are available to Pakistani citizens through National Savings Centres and designated commercial banks across the country.
The amount invested in a prize bond remains secure, and bondholders can encash it at its face value whenever they choose. Prize money is subject to withholding tax under the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.
For the 2026 tax year, filers registered on the Active Taxpayers List (ATL) will pay 15 per cent tax on their winnings, while non-filers will be charged 30 per cent. The tax deducted under Section 156 is treated as final and cannot be refunded or adjusted against other taxable income.
