Rawalpindi and Islamabad Metro Bus services were suspended for some time due to protests by employees, but later the bus service was restored after the protests ended.

According to details, Metro Bus Service employees staged a sit-in on the metro track to protest against the dismissals, due to which the bus service was stopped, and the citizens faced severe difficulties. Female Metro employees also participated in the protest, while the protesters shouted slogans and rejected the decision to dismiss them.

The protesters said that the contracts of the dismissed employees are valid until 2027, but they are being dismissed from their jobs. They alleged that salaries have not been paid for two months. According to the protesting employees, the contract of the Metro Bus Service has been given to a new company, after which the current employees are being fired.

The protesters demanded that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz take immediate notice of the matter and provide justice to the employees.
