Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan said that PTI will not be a part of the voting on the 27th constitutional Amendment and will stage a walkout and protest against this amendment.

Talking to the media outside the National Assembly, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan said that we have announced that we will not be a part of the 27th Amendment process. We will also walk out and protest. However, we will make speeches in the Assembly.

In response to a question, he said that he will also protest in the House will walk out of the session. Barrister Gauhar said that whether Nawaz Sharif comes to the National Assembly session or not, he has become irrelevant. The way he has been brought, a red carpet was laid for him, but no one has laid a red carpet for him in the Parliament.

In response to a question, he addressed Khawaja Muhammad Asif and inquired, “Didn’t you go to Iftikhar Chaudhry with a petition against Raja Pervez Ashraf? Didn’t Mian Sahib himself become a lawyer and go to the Supreme Court as the Commander of the Faithful to form the Memogate Commission?” He said that the judges who left, whether they were good or bad, should not say bad words about them.

ISLAMABAD: After​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Senator Saifullah Abro going against the party line and voting for the 27th Constitutional Amendment, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) decided to cut its relations with him.

PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram wrote on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that the party had decided to expel the senator. He pointed out that the senator’s support for the amendment was a violation of the party line and that the party had taken disciplinary action against ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌him.

“The post quoting Sheikh Waqas Akram said that the party cannot allow such violations of rules and that for the unity of the party, it is impolite that everyone strictly follows the party line,” read the post.

Senator Saifullah Abro of PTI resigns after voting in support of 27th amendment

Earlier, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Pakistan (PTI) senator Saifullah Abro on Monday announced his resignation from the seat of senatorship after he voted in support of the 27th amendment, which was passed with a two-thirds majority in the Senate.

The PTI senator announced his resignation on the Senate floor and delivered his final address, stating that he is resigning from the Senate. Mr Abro said in his speech that he voted in favour of the 27th Amendment because of the Army and Field Marshal Asim Munir.

He said Pakistan Army has earned a good name for the country by winning the War from India. While drawing the Chairman’s Senate attention, Abro requested to de-notify him and sent his resignation to the Election Commission of Pakistan.

The Senate of Pakistan on Monday passed the 27th constitutional amendment with a two-thirds majority amid the opposition parties’ uproar. 64 senators voted in favour of the amendment of all the clauses.

According to the Senate, it approved 56 clauses and 3 schedules of the 27th Constitutional Amendment Bill, with 64 members voting in favour.

25 Pakistan Peoples Party, 20 PML-N and 6 independent senators voted in favour of the bill. 3 MQM, 3 ANP, 4 BAP and one Q-League senator also supported it.
