Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) is preparing to hold a large public rally outside the Public Gate of Mazar-e-Quaid tomorrow, Sunday. PTI leader Haleem Adil Sheikh has announced that Sohail Afridi will lead a rally in front of the VIP gate of Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum at 2 PM.
According to Sheikh, materials for the rally were being transported to Bagh-e-Jinnah when police arrived and locked the gates, stating that permission for the rally had not been granted.
Sheikh emphasized that the rally will proceed regardless, stating that if it cannot be held inside Bagh-e-Jinnah, it will take place outside.
He also noted that the Sindh government had previously assured local PTI leadership that they could hold the rally at Bagh-e-Jinnah, but suddenly reversed their decision and denied permission.
Haleem Adil Sheikh criticized the Sindh government for what he termed unnecessary hurdles and reiterated PTI’s commitment to holding a peaceful political gathering.
