HANGU: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has strongly criticized the federal government and administration for not implementing the court’s decision regarding former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s medical treatment and said that if the court order was not implemented they will hold set-in Islamabad on August 27.

Addressing participants of a street movement at Abu Bakar Siddique Chowk in Hangu, Afridi said that a decision by three judges concerning Khan’s treatment was “thrown into the dustbin by the government and administration, slapping the judges in the face.”

“Once again the ‘untouchables’ of this country have proven that they are above the Constitution and the law,” the Chief Minister said. He claimed that when courts, the FIA, or any other institution issue orders against PTI members, compliance happens within an hour and police arrive within 15 minutes.

“But the courts gave two days for Imran Khan’s treatment, and those who consider themselves above the law did not implement the decision,” Afridi added. The CM questioned the credibility of the judicial system, saying: “If the courts cannot bring these ‘untouchables’ to account, then they have no right to pronounce sentences on the oppressed either.

If punishments cannot be given to the oppressors and the powerful, then I request the judiciary to also free the weak people they have imprisoned. “It cannot be that there is one law for the weak and another law for the powerful in one country,” he said. “The struggle for real freedom that Imran Khan started is aimed at having one law for both the weak and the powerful.”

Afridi urged the courts to consider where the country is heading, citing concerns of farmers and industrialists moving capital abroad. “If their decision is to protect the powerful, then we are rebels against that decision,” he said.He called on the youth to decide the future of the country. “The youth have to decide for the country. They have to stand up for their future,” he said. The Chief Minister also condemned what he described as oppression against PTI women. “Injustice and cruelty is being done to PTI women. Imran Khan’s sisters were humiliated.

Now they have even exhausted the ‘women’s card’,” Afridi said.“We love Imran Khan to the point of obsession. We will pay the price for every single tear of Khan’s sister,” he concluded.
