PESHAWAR: The leadership of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has split into two factions regarding the ongoing road closures in the province. One group is urging that all closed roads be reopened by tomorrow to alleviate public hardship.
This faction expresses concern about the current situation and believes that the road closures are causing severe difficulties for the citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, affecting business activities and preventing patients from accessing hospitals.
Moderate leaders within the party have stated, “You are creating more problems by closing roads, leading workers towards another tragedy similar to the one on May 9. The public is already suffering from inflation and unemployment, and these road closures are only exacerbating their struggles. It is inappropriate to torment people under any circumstances.”
Conversely, the hard-line faction argues that the road closures are a necessary strategy in line with party policy and the current political climate. However, due to these internal differences, PTI leadership may need to reevaluate its approach.
