RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have been heavily criticized for abandoning their workers outside Adiala Jail and making TikTok videos.
As per media reports, the workers had come to the jail to demonstrate against the police, who had refused to let the sisters of Imran Khan meet him. The main PTI leadership left the place despite the ongoing protest, which resulted in frustration and anger among the party supporters.
Earlier, Imran Khan’s sisters Aleema Khan, Uzma Khanum, and Noreen Niazi had staged a sit-in outside Adiala Jail. The protest was aimed at drawing attention to their demand to meet the imprisoned former PTI founder.
Nevertheless, the decision of PTI to quit the protest site at such an emotional hour has turned the tide against them among their workers. Some have charged the leadership with making light of the issue and choosing to entertain rather than being in support of their workers and the Khan family.

Water cannon deployed outside Adiala Jail to deal with possible protest
Earlier, to deal with protesters during the Aleema Khan visit to Adiala Jail, the Police deployed water cannon amid tight security arrangements at Gate Number 05 of the Adiala Jail.
According to details, strict security arrangements have been made outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, while water cannon has been deployed outside Gate No. 5 of the jail to deal with any possible law and order situation. Law enforcement agencies have deployed additional personnel around the jail, and strict surveillance is being maintained on the entry and exit routes.
According to details, Aleema Khan, the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder, has announced that she will go to Adiala Jail today to meet the PTI founder. She made it clear that if permission is not given for the meeting, she will sit outside the jail and will continue to try to meet in any case. Talking to the media, Aleema Khan said that she will not be afraid of any pressure, obstruction, or security arrangements. She said that even if the meeting is not held and even if water is thrown through a water cannon, she will not back down from her position.
Aleema Khan also rejected the impression that there are any groups within the party. She said that the legal and political team of the founder PTI is her only team, while the talks about Aleema Khan group or Bushra Bibi group are baseless and just propaganda.
According to security officials, all necessary steps have been taken to deal with any unexpected situation outside Adiala Jail, while the situation is being constantly monitored to maintain law and order.
