PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Faisal Amin Gandapur has raised questions over the financial support being provided by the party’s parliamentarians, saying the party’s financial difficulties have become serious.
In a statement on social media platform X, Gandapur said he had attempted to raise a simple question on the matter at internal party forums, but no leader deemed it appropriate to respond. He said he was therefore compelled to put the question before PTI workers.
Faisal Amin Gandapur said that around two years ago, direct instructions from PTI founder Imran Khan were conveyed to every elected MNA, MPA and senator, asking them to contribute Rs50,000 per month to support the party financially.
He demanded that the party release a list showing which parliamentarians had been paying the monthly Rs50,000 contribution and which had not.
The PTI lawmaker said he saw no reason for the list not to be made public, arguing that the parliamentary seats had been secured because of Imran Khan.
Faisal Amin Gandapur said if lawmakers who secured their seats in Imran Khan’s name were not contributing even Rs50,000 to the party despite his instructions, he had “no other word” for the situation except to call it shameful.
