ISLAMABAD: After Senator Saifullah Abro going against the party line and voting for the 27th Constitutional Amendment, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) decided to cut its relations with him.
PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram wrote on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that the party had decided to expel the senator. He pointed out that the senator’s support for the amendment was a violation of the party line and that the party had taken disciplinary action against him.
“The post quoting Sheikh Waqas Akram said that the party cannot allow such violations of rules and that for the unity of the party, it is impolite that everyone strictly follows the party line,” read the post.
