HARIPUR: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are bravely fighting against terrorism and have played a crucial role in establishing peace and order in the country, often at the cost of their own lives.
While addressing a ceremony to distribute laptops to students at the University of Haripur, he remarked that history will always remember the sacrifices made by the people of the region. He also noted that the Pakistani army delivered a lesson to India in the battles of May 6 and 10.
Sharif emphasised that the victory on May 10 was a result of the nation’s prayers and the bravery of the Pakistani army, which brought honour to the country on a global scale. During his speech, he announced several significant initiatives in the education sector. He mentioned that laptops will be distributed throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and that opportunities for higher training in the agricultural sector will be provided to youth across the country based on merit.
The Prime Minister highlighted that the younger generation is both the heroes and architects of the nation, and they are key to Pakistan’s development. He also pointed out that, as Chief Minister of Punjab, he had previously sent 600 children to learn Chinese, and the initiative to send students from all provinces abroad for education will continue.
Additionally, he announced various development initiatives for Haripur, including the establishment of a Danish school, a separate campus for women, the construction of a bridge, and the provision of quality education.
Shahbaz Sharif mentioned that Pakistan is stable at the macroeconomic level and that it is time to elevate the country to new heights of development. He appealed to the people to embrace challenges and move forward, stating that Pakistan’s progress will not come through shortcuts but through hard work, brotherhood, and unity.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for cooperation among all four provinces, asserting that if they develop together, Pakistan can achieve greatness. He remarked that just as military forces advance in defence, everyone must also progress in the economic and educational sectors.
He praised the courage of Mahmud Batool and affirmed that respecting the culture of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is our collective responsibility.
In summary, the Prime Minister’s initiatives focus on education, infrastructure, women’s development, and providing opportunities to the youth, which are essential for accelerating the development of both the province and the country.
