PESHAWAR: Peshawar police successfully eliminated five dangerous contract killers (target killers) during a gunfight with police in the Dawoodzai area of Peshawar. The deceased included Bilal and Najam Hassan Alias “Peene”, wanted criminals involved in multiple high-profile murders.

The operation took place in the Dawoodzai area, where police engaged the suspects in a gunfight. The group responsible for the killings of over 30 police officers, political, and social figures, was completely neutralized.

The Chief Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar, Dr Mian Muhammad Saeed has said that the Peene group was behind the police personnel murders in different districts and was involved in other serious crimes, such as the city’s targeted killings and contract murders. Among the reputed members of the gang shot dead in the encounter were Bilal and Najam Hassan.

The CCPO stated that the operation had brought down the whole network and that there was no longer a threat to law officers and the public alike. To ensure the area was safe for the residents, there were additional police forces were sent to the site.

Elite force officer shot dead in Swat’s Singotah area

Earlier, constable Hammad Ali, son of Saltanat Khan, was killed in a shooting incident in Singotah, Swat. Hammad Ali was serving in the Elite Force in Lower Dir and had returned home on leave at the time of the attack.

District Police Officer (DPO) Swat, Muhammad Umar Khan, visited Saidu Sharif Hospital to meet the family of the slain officer and expressed condolences. The DPO took immediate notice of the incident, directing that the suspects involved be arrested promptly and brought to justice.

Under the DPO’s instructions, a special investigation team has been formed to determine the facts of the case and ensure the apprehension of the culprits.

The police are actively investigating the incident.
