Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted hot and partly cloudy dry weather in most parts of the country, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, for today, Friday.
According to official sources, the weather will remain hot and partly cloudy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and most parts of the country, while southern Punjab and Sindh districts will remain in the grip of an intense heat wave. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature may exceed 42 degrees Celsius in the plains of Sindh, including Dadu, Jacobabad, and Larkana, while the intensity of the heat and humidity will be felt more in Karachi due to the cessation of sea breezes.
The weather in the upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, such as Swat, Dir, and Chitral, will remain partly cloudy, while the weather will remain hot and dry in most districts of Balochistan, but wind and rain may occur in Zhob and Barkhan.
The weather will remain hot in the central areas of Punjab, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Lahore, but dusty winds and light rain with thundershowers are likely in the evening or night, which may temporarily reduce the intensity of the heat.
The PMD has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary exposure to the sun during the afternoon and to consume more water to avoid heatstroke and dehydration. Farmers have also been instructed to make proper arrangements for crop irrigation, keeping in mind the rising temperatures.
