ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) said former prime minister Imran Khan was brought to the hospital for medical examination and treatment during the night of August 20 and 21, 2026.

According to a PIMS statement, two specialist doctors from Shifa International Hospital also took part in his eye examination, while other medical tests were conducted by PIMS specialists. The hospital said the medical opinions from the eye examination were reviewed along with the results of tests carried out at PIMS.

A medical board comprising PIMS doctors then combined all the findings and prepared a medical fitness report, PIMS said. PIMS added that the hospital would fully respect the patient’s privacy as well as the directions of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. It further said the confidential details of the medical report would not be made public, the PIMS press release concluded.

It merits mentioninh here that ex-premier Imran Khan was examined by a specialized medical board at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad following a Supreme Court order. Doctors declared him medically fit and stable before he was transferred back to Adiala Jail.
