PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday permitted Pakistani woman to reunite with her Afghan husband.

A writ was filed in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) regarding Lisa Mannan, a woman from Kurram district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, whose name appears on the passport control list. During the hearing, the court learned that the petitioner is a Pakistani citizen from Kurram district and is married to an Afghan citizen.

The petitioner intends to travel to Afghanistan on a legal visa to visit her children and husband; however, her name has been placed on the passport control list.

An immigration representative present in court explained that her name was added to the control list on the recommendation of the FIA (Federal Investigation Agency). Justice Arshad Ali remarked on this, questioning why the woman is being prevented from legally travelling to see her children and husband, emphasising that this situation constitutes a violation of basic human rights and Islamic principles.

The court ultimately ordered the removal of her name from the passport control list, allowing her to reunite with her children and husband.
