PESHAWAR: At least seven people, including two police personnel, were injured in a blast near the Tarnab Farm police post in Peshawar on Wednesday, according to Rescue 1122.
Initial reports suggested that unidentified individuals threw explosive material near the police post, triggering the explosion in the jurisdiction of Chamkani Police Station.
The injured were provided first aid at the scene before being shifted to a hospital for further medical treatment, Rescue 1122 said.
Following the incident, emergency response teams and ambulances were dispatched to the site on the instructions of Peshawar District Emergency Officer Iftikhar Khan.
Rescue 1122 said five ambulances and two fire vehicles were present at the scene and remained on standby to deal with any further emergency.
District Emergency Officer Iftikhar Khan was also at the site and personally supervising the rescue operation.
Authorities have yet to determine the exact nature of the explosive material or establish the motive behind the attack. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
