MOHMAND: Mohmand District political and social activist Noor Islam Safi has criticized the performance of the provincial government and said that the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has completely failed to provide relief to the people of Mohmand and they have been ignored in Ramzan package of Rs 12000 per family.
Speaking exclusively to ‘Pakhtun Digital’, he expressed deep concern over the serious problems of the district and the government’s inattention. Noor Islam Safi said that the holy month is near, but the Ramadan relief package claimed by the Chief Minister is nowhere to be seen on the ground.
“The aid that the government had announced for the deserving is still missing. In this era of inflation, the poor people are yearning for cheap goods, while the government machinery is only busy with paperwork.”
The social worker, while speaking about the deteriorating law and order situation in the district, said that the government has failed to provide security to the citizens. Along with this, the youth are in deep despair due to the lack of employment opportunities. He alleged that the promises made for the merged districts have not been fulfilled and the rights of the local people over local resources are not being recognized.
Regarding the development works, he said many ongoing development projects in the district have been left unfinished. Construction works of roads, hospitals and educational institutions have been hampered due to lack of funds or poor planning. Due to these unfinished projects, the people are facing more difficulties instead of getting facilities.
Noor Islam Safi demanded that the provincial government take practical steps instead of photo sessions. He warned that if the Ramadan package is not provided immediately, law and order is restored, and unfinished projects are not completed, the people of Mohmand will be forced to resort to protest.
